Our Gala weekend in Tampa has something for everyone, ensuring that Red Hatters will have an extraordinary gathering place to meet with old friends, make new friends, share excellent meals and fun activities while creating new memories.

Thursday, April 4, 2019: 3:00 - 4:00 PM - Event & Hotel Registration - Hotel Lobby 3:00 – 4:00 PM – “Optional Dinner Cruise” Check-in – Hotel Lobby

Optional: Thursday Evening Dinner Cruise  (is not included in event fee) Welcome aboard Florida’s largest, and America's first 3-Diamond rated (AAA) dining yachts. 6:30 PM:  We will board our exclusive beautiful Yacht StarShip II at the Tampa Convention Center, just a short 4 min. walk from the Sheraton.  We will cruise Tampa Bay from 7:00 PM - 9:30 PM while we dine. After dinner you can adjourn to the upper decks and dance under the stars to the music of a great DJ; or you can enjoy the music in the dining room.  Dress code is elegant Red Hat Regalia with comfortable shoes.

There are three meal choices and you may decide once you are aboard.
All meals include an Organic Mixed Salad with Dried Cranberries and Pistachios in a Citrus Vinaigrette; Chef's Specialty Dessert; Iced Tea & Coffee Service. A cash bar is available. "Yacht Starship" Chicken Cordon Bleu: Breast of Chicken stuffed with Spinach, Ham, Mushrooms and Aged Swiss Cheese in a Rosemary Jus Lie. Hand Carved Roast Prime Rib of Beef: with Au Jus and Creamy Horseradish Sauce. Grilled Fillet of Atlantic Salmon: finished with a Dill Cream Sauce and served with Chef's Choice of Starch and Seasonal Vegetables. A Vegetarian Option is available. Please indicate on reservation form so we can notify the chef. We can accommodate most dietary restrictions when notified ahead of time. Cost: Only $87.00 includes 2-1/2 hour cruise, 3-course meal, gratuity, top deck DJ and dancing, port charges, all taxes and fees. This yacht has three comfortable decks with restrooms on the first and second decks. You can access decks two and three by stairs only - there is no elevator.

Please note that you can reserve your space for the dinner cruise with a deposit of $25, with full payment due January 14, 2019. You may also use a major credit card to pay in full. (See registration form to reserve this dining experience.)

Friday, April 5, 2019: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM - Red Hat Boutique - Riverview Room - Shop with WCQC's select vendors:   Gliz-a-Glor -  Nan-Tiques  -   Lilly Kazillies  -  Red Hat Regalia. This is where you can pick up your latest Red Hat fashions and bling.

10:00 AM – 11:30 AM – Red Hat CRAFTS PLAYSHOPS - Riverwalk Ballroom With the help of instructors, make an Elegant Hat Band, or an Iris Folding Greeting Card with ribbon.  If you choose to play, please pick which craft so we can be prepared with proper supplies.  There is no charge for this segment.  You will share fun times and go home with a treasure that you made. Remember to include your choice on the reservation form. There is also free time on Friday when you may hire a shuttle to the Hard Rock Casino, catch a movie at the Tampa Theater, take a Segway tour along the Riverwalk, or ride the water taxi to a restaurant of your choice. Choose your favorite colour and dress elegantly for this fun evening.
Please choose your dinner option of Grilled Top Sirloin with Onions Demi Glace or Chicken Boursin .  Both entrees are served with a salad of Field Green Bouquet, Grape Tomatoes, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, Candied Walnuts, Dried Cranberries and Wild Berry Vinaigrette, Chef's choice of Starch, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Dessert, Artisanal Breads and Iced Tea. Vegetarian option:  Stuffed Portabella Mushroom. A Cash Bar is available.
DJ Tim DeLavechia will charm you with his wit and style while we dance the night away. Join the Basket Raffles, Share The Wealth, and dance competitions. Early registration cash prize drawing of $100 will be awarded.

Saturday, April 6, 2019: 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM - Red Hat Boutique - Riverview Room
9:30 AM - 11:00 AM - Red Hat Strut ~ Join us for a walk on the beautiful Tampa Riverwalk. Remember to bring your parasol, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes. The walk is 0.4 of a mile (approx. 4 minutes).  We will gather on the steps of the Tampa Convention Center for a group photograph before returning to the hotel. Let's show Tampa our colors.

Dress elegantly and please remember that the official colors of the Red Hat Society are Purple Clothing and a Red Hat unless it's your birthday month.
You may choose from three selections:   Pan Seared Atlantic Salmon served with a Fennel Mustard Reduction or Classic Chicken Primavera  served with English Pea Risotto and Tomato Bearnaise. Vegetarian offering: Pasta Primavera.  Entrees are served with a salad of Baby Spinach, Orange Segments, Bleu Cheese Crumbles, Toasted Almonds, Bacon Bits, and Carmelized Onion Vinaigrette.   Chef's choice choice of Starch, Fresh Seasonal Vegetables, Dessert, Artisanal Breads and Iced Tea. A Cash Bar is available.

MOST ELEGANT RED HAT CONTEST:  We love our hats, don’t we?  So here is your chance to create a one-of-a-kind hat which will be judged for creativity & originality, workmanship and degree of difficulty, proportion & balance, color, visual appeal and impact.  Three cash prizes will be awarded.  Please indicate on the reservation form if you will participate; only those who pre-register for the Hat Contest will be eligible to participate.
Continue the fun with the tunes of DJ CJ and dance off those calories. Basket Raffles, Unique $ Creation Raffle,  and Share The Wealth.  Vendor and WCQC Door Prizes will be awarded.

6:30 PM - 10:30 PM Posh Red Hat PJ Party - Riverwalk Ballroom
Time to nosh a bit on a delicioso Antipasti buffet that includes Cured Italian Meats, Artisanal Cheeses, Grilled Zucchini, Yellow Squash, Asparagus, Roasted Peppers, Olives, and Italian Breads. Red Hatters love dessert so we have planned a Chocolat Affair - Warm, Flowing Belgian Chocolate with its captivating aroma, along with Strawberries, Bananas, Pineapple, Marshmallows, Biscotti, Rice Crispy Treats and Donut Holes. Iced Tea and Coffee.   A Cash Bar is available. You definitely don't want to miss the after dinner entertainment by our mystery guest!!

A money Pillow Case Raffle will be held with 100% payout. To play this game you will need one dollar bill(s), five dollar bill(s) and ten dollar bill(s). All reservations and final event payment must be received no later than January 14, 2019. Reservations are non-refundable after January 14, 2019, but may be transferred to another Registered Red Hatter.  There will be a $35 fee for checks returned for insufficient funds.

HOTEL INFO: SHERATON TAMPA RIVERWALK HOTEL, 200 North Ashley Drive, Tampa, FL 33602 is located 8 miles from the Tampa International Airport. Taxi service by Yellow Cab and United Cab is available at the TIA curbside outside Baggage Claim Level. Both companies charge a flat rate of $25.00. You can also use our preferred vendor, Blue One Transportation; call 813-927-3602 for a $10.00 direct transfer to the hotel. Once at the hotel, guests can use the complimentary shuttle service, available daily 6:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. upon request, to any location within a 3 mile radius of the hotel. Or take a ride on Tampa's historic streetcars. Red Hatters arriving by car will receive discounted overnight parking at $15.00 (usually $24.) At the edge of the vibrant Tampa Riverwalk, the hotel invites you to discover a hotel for doing as much or as little as you like. Play, relax or explore from this downtown hotel, minutes from Raymond James Stadium, the Florida Aquarium and Port of Tampa. Stroll to downtown attractions like the Tampa Convention Center, the Channelside and Ybor City entertainment districts. Take a water taxi ride with over 15 stops conveniently located along the Riverwalk, Channel District and Davis Island. Water taxis crews offer historical narration.

Special Hotel Group Rate: $181.08 /night (includes all taxes and fees) - 1-2 persons. Note that there is an additional fee of $10 each for a third and fourth person.
