This was alot of fun, where the beginning of a song is played and if you should have that song on your card you put a token on it; There were several different arrangement for the card and there were several happy winners!
Then we proceeded to the birthday hat contest. There were a few categories. I think one was the most original and another was the prettiest? Anyway, the resu;ts to be continued
So ends Day 1 with the rest of the pictures of the birthday hat winners and door prizes. Queen Vette shared another beautiful song. Then it looks like we are getting a peak at Friday morning with new arrivals for the 2nd package. Hope you enjoyed the first day!
Here we go Again!! Day 2 - Friday!! What a busy day!! It was Registration for the group coming in for the 2nd package. It was also the day we had the Iris Ribbon Card making class. There was also line dancing led by Kathy Traina and Great Vendors!! with lots of wonderful Red Hat merchandise!!!
Happy Hour included first viewing of amazing "stars" from the 50's and 60's! It was sometimes hard to recognize our friends! Hope you enjoy the pictures!! Many more to follow!! Red Hat Hugs!! donnabee
p.s.: I also have videos of Vette singing great songs with her beautiful voice and of some of the "Stars" doing their little skits? If you want to see any, let me know and I will send them maybe one at a time? since I'm not sure how they'll come through?

I see the Mouseketeers, Petticoat Junction, Gilligan's Island (priceless!). the World's Most Amazing Clown, Ellie May, Granny, lots of Lucy's and an Ethel, Charlie's Angels, "That Girl", Jeannie (she has a video), Cher, Sonny and Cher, Wonderwoman? I melting down!! Sorry! Everybody looked amazing! I'm really not done yet?
Starting with the theme songs from TV shows from the past were played and the contestants had to name the shows? The contestants were selected by the year they were born? I knew Mary Perdoma had to win because she knows all the songs and stars from the 50's and 60's!! Then there was dancing and contests for the best costume individually and as a group. That would be a tough one because so many were so good and creative!! They baby made another "debut" with her grandmother. It was amazing how good she was at only a couple of months old!! Anyway, hope you enjoy the pictures!!
More costume judging for best groups, like Gilligan's Island, Petticoat Junction and Sonny and Cher? Then Individuals. Some of the "Stars", like "I Dream of Jeannie" actually discussed their magic or character. It was fun and alot of really creative costumes!! Hope you enjoy the pictures! One more Batch for Day 2 to come, then we move to Day 4!
Whew! and Last Batch for Day 2, After the winners of the costume contest were announced the group went on to dancing and enjoying the entertainment! There was distribution of door prizes and then we called it a night!! (But, Oh, What a Night!!) Again, Hope you enjoy. Tomorrow, we move on to Day 3!!
This is Batch 2 and the Last Batch. It finishes off more gifts from Yanda's Vice Queen, who was super sweet and helpful!! Then there's some dancing and desserts?
Then we had a performance with and about the Sock Monkey group! It was all fun! I remember our performing bears in the olden days!
One lady gave me her bear with a whole wardrobe she made for the bear. Looking through the clothes, I saw she went the the 10 year National Anniversary in 2008 at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando!! The bear has all the costumes.LOL

We are in the ballroom and got a really neat souvenir jar from the Sisters of Grace in Miami! Remember there was a threat of major tropical storm in the forecast and there was a lot of wind and rain!! Donna bee went on the upper deck to get some good pictures of the Rich and Famous lives in Ft Lauderdale! I almost got blown away! Then we proceed to happy hour and "Dinner Around the World". As you can see Queen Elizabeth was also there. Hope you enjoy all the amazing costumes!!

Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Hoot - Hosted by Alice Ramos
Queen Alice Ramos invited us to the most amazing event!! It was Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel at Westshore Plaza where the Sears store used to be?The tour was amazing! Mostly audio and huge paintings!! It was amazing to hear about the deep interpretation of the Bible.
The beginning started with a video of Michaelangelo and how he did these pictures on his back with his team? The pope at the time was nagging him about how long this would take? The pope actually started climbing up the scaffolding and he threw wood on him.
When we actually visited the Sistine Chapel on our 25th anniversary, the guide said Michaelango didn't like the pope so he painted him in the bottom corner of the "Rapture" as the devil?? Can you see him with snakes all around him?
Still more amazing pictures and alot of history! I loved his interpretation of Noah's Ark? How some were trying to protect people while others were just out for themselves, while all would drown!
We also found a new sister!! Kelli Dodson, the lady who ran the gift shop and took our good pictures? This is where I took a picture of her with the group? She called me and I'm so excited about getting to know her better! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Great time! Thank You Alice!

MARCH 19, 2022 Portrait of a Bride, An Evolving Silhouette
HOSTED BY LINDA HUTCHINS
Attached is Batch 1 of pictures from the Portrait of a Bride, An Evolving Silhouette, by Wedding Historian Leigh Anne Brown . It was pretty amazing! Leigh Anne Brown owns 348 bridal gowns going back to 1859! It was so cool.
Leigh Anne Brown talked about our growth as women from one generation to the next and how we grew from our mother's evolution! Going back to 1859 women were wives, homemakers and child bearers and that was it? Only the bureaucrats wore white, so gowns were in colors? Blue was popular because it meant pure? They also wore 9 layers of underwear, check out the last of the gowns including a corset, bloomers and many layers of other underwear.
The Civil War actually started the beginning of the women's movement! Women were forced to be at home being taken care of by their husbands. Suddenly all the men left to go to war? They learned to take care of their families and survive by themselves and for their families.
The 1920's wasn't just about flappers! They were serious women. After going through World War 1, they again learned to survive without husbands and they still had no rights! They couldn't own property, couldn't vote and basically didn't exist in the financial world. They protested and went through the suffrage movement to gain women's rights!
The styles of the wedding dresses evolved likewise, with the evolution in the garment and industrial fabrication of new materials? Then came World War 2, which brought more women into the workforce (Rosie the Riveter). So many went and never came back, By this time some married before their lovers left but there was one couple who decided not to marry until he got back. He sent her his parachute and she and her future mother-in-law hand sewed the wedding dress in the middle with it. They hand sewed all the pieces and embroidery into it.
MARCH 12, 2022 BIRTHDAY LUNCH AT ARGENTOS
