Attached are pictures of the JANUARY Birthday Luncheon at Glory Days Restaurant in Wesley Chapel. There were 9 Birthdays but only 8 showed up, several from Queen Joanne Rampino's Group from Brooksville. There was also a 10 year old pink hatter, whose grandma brought her for her birthday. She is a supporting member since the Red Hat Society accepted her money and issued her a member number. Over 60 ladies came and we were able to get them all in!!
The food was great and Birthday cupcakes were delicious! We had 3 Share the Wealth winners and had time to play Bingo. The first was "L" which Ava won and then full card, which had 2 ladies won, a Pinkie from Queen Joanne's group (notice how she color coded her card?) and Kathy Russo!! Congratulations, Ladies! Hope ya'll enjoy the pictures! Red Hat Hugs!donnabee

Medieval Event in Kissimmee August 26th, 2022

Attached is the first batch of pictures from our Medieval Dinner and Games last Friday. It was alot of fun with so many great costumes and entertainment! AND so many photo ops! Everybody looked great and I was so happy that Queen Nancy from Jacksonville and my sisters from the Red Hat G.R.I.T.S. were there!!
It was so fun to see so many sweet Red Hat sisters there! Including Queen Nancy of the Red Hat GRITS, Queen Bonnie of the Red Bonnet Sisters, Queen Alice Ramos of Red Hat Sassy Sisters only to name a few??It was so fun! We were at the wrong end of all that was really going on and there were nets up to protect the viewers in the middle, so that is why the action pictures look grainy but you get the gist?

Queen Shelia's August  13th 2022 Birthday Lunch at RoosterFish Grill in Largo today! These ladies REALLY outdid themselves! It was amazing and so well planned with gifts, games, and great food and service!!

SATURDAY, July 9, 2023 Birthday Celebration

Happy Birthday Queen Charleen, Pat and Michellene! Forty-five  Red Hatters met at the Golden Corral in Zephyrhills. We played games and enjoyed some good food. Had a wonderful waitress who decided after being our waitress she was going home to sign up and look for a chapter!! Woo Hoo!

FUNVENTION 2022

Once all got settled and changed into our Red Formal attire, we went to Happy Hour at 5:00 Free drinks and fun with our sisters before dinner and the Ballroom! We are in the ballroom and got a really neat souvenir jar from the Sisters of Grace in Miami!  Friday morning was the Boat tour, which was a double decker, the first deck was enclosed and the upper deck open? Remember there was a threat of major tropical storm in the forecast and there was a lot of wind and rain!! Donna bee  went on the upper deck to get some good pictures of the Rich and Famous lives in Ft Lauderdale! I almost got blown away! Then we proceed to happy hour and "Dinner Around the World". As you can see Queen Elizabeth was also there. Hope you enjoy all the amazing costumes!!
Thank you to the Lucie Goosies and The Sisters of Grace for a  fabulous weekend! The storm did not keep us down.

Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel Hoot - Hosted by Alice Ramos

Queen Alice Ramos invited us to the most amazing event!! It was Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel at Westshore Plaza where the Sears store used to be?The tour was amazing! Mostly audio and huge paintings!! It was amazing to hear about the deep interpretation of the Bible.
The beginning started with a video of Michaelangelo and how he did these pictures on his back with his team? The pope at the time was nagging him about how long this would take? The pope actually started climbing up the scaffolding and he threw wood on him.
When we actually visited the Sistine Chapel on our 25th anniversary, the guide said Michaelango didn't like the pope so he painted him in the bottom corner of the "Rapture" as the devil?? Can you see him with snakes all around him?
Still more amazing pictures and alot of history! I loved his interpretation of Noah's  Ark? How some were trying to protect people while others were just out for themselves, while all would drown!
We also found a new sister!! Kelli Dodson, the lady who ran the gift shop and took our good pictures? This is where I took a picture of her with the group? She called me and I'm so excited about getting to know her better! Hope you enjoy the pictures!
Great time! Thank You Alice!

Sorry, I didn't get her name but she was very beautiful and original. More winners and then Queen Joyce Hunter brought in 3 more gifts for more ticket holders. She is amazing!! She also gave all of us organizers a Red Hat Flowers hair clip? So sweet! Last but not least are pictures of Queen Bonnie and the Red Hat Bonnets!

MARCH 19, 2022   Portrait of a Bride, An Evolving Silhouette
HOSTED BY LINDA HUTCHINS

Attached is Batch 1 of pictures from the Portrait of a Bride, An Evolving Silhouette, by Wedding Historian Leigh Anne Brown . It was pretty amazing!  Leigh Anne Brown owns 348 bridal gowns going back to 1859! It was so cool.

Leigh Anne Brown talked about our growth as women from one generation to the next and how we grew from our mother's evolution!  Going back to 1859 women were wives, homemakers and child bearers and that was it? Only the bureaucrats wore white, so gowns were in colors? Blue was popular because it meant pure? They also wore 9 layers of underwear, check out the last of the gowns including a corset, bloomers and many layers of other underwear.

The Civil War actually started the beginning of the women's movement! Women were forced to be at home being taken care of by their husbands. Suddenly all the men left to go to war? They learned to take care of their families and survive by themselves and for their families.

The  1920's wasn't just about flappers! They were serious women. After going through  World War 1,  they again learned to survive without husbands and they still had no rights!  They couldn't own property, couldn't vote and basically didn't exist in the financial world. They protested and went through the suffrage movement to gain women's rights!

The styles of the wedding dresses evolved likewise, with the evolution in the garment and industrial fabrication of new materials? Then came World War 2, which brought more women into the workforce (Rosie the Riveter). So many went and never came back, By this time some married before their lovers left but there was one couple who decided not to marry until he got back. He sent her his parachute and she and her future mother-in-law hand sewed the wedding dress in the middle with it. They hand sewed all the pieces and embroidery into it.

MARCH 12, 2022 BIRTHDAY LUNCH AT ARGENTOS
